Calculation
- 18-hole score differential = (113 / slope) x (adjusted gross score - course rating - PCC).
- 9-hole score differentials use the 9-hole rating/slope and combine the actual nine with a modelled expected nine based on the current Handicap Index.
- 10-17 hole cards use the played holes plus expected differential for the unplayed holes.
- A first index needs at least 54 eligible holes, so six 9-hole cards or any 9/18-hole combination can establish the record.
- Before a Handicap Index is established, hole scores are capped at par + 5 where hole data exists.
- This uses the latest 20 included scores and averages the lowest 8, matching the normal WHS/England Golf record once 20 scores exist.
- Drop-off warnings mark the oldest scores in the current latest-20 record; one new qualifying score removes the score at record position 20.
- Each 18-hole equivalent differential is rounded to one decimal before averaging; the 9-hole component stays unrounded until combined with the expected nine.
- Net double bogey uses Garmin hole scores and the selected tee's stroke indexes; for 9-hole rounds the app uses a 9-hole Course Handicap. It is skipped if a round score has been edited away from the Garmin card.
- The course and tee dropdowns update course rating and slope. Garmin par is kept as the scorecard par for that round.
- Rounds show score source separately from course data source: Garmin can supply scores while CR, slope and stroke indexes come from NCRDB, club scorecards, Social Golfer, or a Garmin course snapshot.
- Remove moves a round out of the main table and into the Archive tab; Restore brings it back without losing the row data.
- The Rounds feed separates handicap-condition, casual, and all active rounds so the default view stays focused on handicap-relevant cards.
- Non-handicap-condition rounds can be excluded, adjusted manually, or adjusted using a gimme model based on short-putt make rates.
- Gimme model = expected missed gimmes plus any extra casual relief. Example: 3 gimmes with a 30% miss chance adds 0.9 strokes.
- Variance stats use the current latest-record differentials; the similar-handicap benchmark is a local consistency heuristic, not an official WHS/England Golf calculation.
- Garmin Sync imports 9-18 hole Garmin scorecards into shared state when the server has a captured local request template.
- Round Details has a Shot Review mode for shot-level tags: contact, direction, shape, intent, lost-shot area, and comments.
- Edits to settings, course setup, tees, scores, included rounds, round conditions, and shot-review notes are saved in shared state when opened via the HTTP app.
- Reset Settings restores view and model controls only; it does not delete rounds, imported Garmin data, course tee setup, round conditions, or shot-review notes.
- The Christchurch 2025-02-23 card is a Garmin 12-hole scorecard matched to the Yellow M tee rating.
